This rug was handwoven by Fadma. Fadma belongs to the Anzal weaving association. Located a few kilometers north of the popular weaving town of Tazenakht. The weaving traditions within the village are nurtured by the woman, passing these unique skills down from generation to generation. Fadma is the third generation to belong to the association.
Spending 6 weeks on this Flatweave, Fadma used 100% live sheep’s wool, which was brushed, carded, spun and dyed by hand.
While the black is all natural, undyed wool, the brown colour is derived from a mixture of wild plants and local flowers
