TROPIA ART X TAJMI
Marrakesh - She was walking through the desert following the sun…the heat formed waves in the air, but suddenly she saw her; the tree of the soul. Standing in the middle of emptiness, strong and beautiful, the giant palm marked the entrance to the oasis she was searching for…
The possible origin of the name Marrakesh comes from the Amazigh (Berber) words “amur akush” which means “Land of God”. The Marrakesh area was inhabited by Berber farmers from Neolithic times, located just west of the foothills of the The Atlas Mountains. A strong Andalusian influence merged with designs from the Sahara and West Africa, creating a unique style of architecture which is still significant in Marrakesh today.
